PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to execute WCCO-TV station events, as well as PR efforts and the community engagement process.? This position reports to the Director of Communications.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Execution of WCCO-TV station events.? Responsibilities include all logistics and communication required for each event. This is inclusive of the Minnesota State Fair, Holidazzle, High School Sports Rally, as well as station participation in parades and promotional events.
- Managing the day-to-day community engagement process. Key contact for all community engagement requests submitted to the television; liaison between agencies and station; manage WCCO-TV assets.? Work collaboratively with news management, WCCO-TV on-air talent and agencies.
- Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the WCCO-TV internship program; maintaining PSA schedules; distributing press releases; social media networking for events; managing donation requests; responding to viewer emails; execution of news phone banks; coordinating the WCCO-TV ?street team?.
- Backup to the customer service representative.

Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational and time management skills; must thrive in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment; need strong interpersonal skills to work closely with other teams and other departments; ability to demonstrate leadership and team values; knowledge and experience in communications, event planning/execution and public relations; must be able to work some flexible hours.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor?s degree in the communication, public relation or marketing field is preferred.? Some television experience preferred.? Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel is required.
